YOUTH BREEDING ANIMAL SHOW



MAY 17th  Jackpot Market Show 8:30AM (Weigh In 7:00-8:00 am)

   GRAND CHAMPION $150 - RESERVE CHAMPION $100

   1st, 2nd, 3rd premium paid in each weight division

   Premium will be paid based on the number of entries

   $10 per Animal Entry Fee


MAY 17th 1st ABGA Open Show (Judge: David Carwell) will begin immediately

   following the Market Show followed by

   2nd ABGA Open Show (Judge: Danny Thompson)


May 18th  Youth Breeding Animal Show at 8:00 am followed by

   3rd ABGA Open Show (Judge: Mark Berry)


Early Entry Deadline: May 5, 2008, 15.00/Entry Open, $5/Entry Youth Show.


Late Entry Deadline:  May 12, 2008, $20.00/entry.


NOTE:   If youth show in the Sunday Youth Show the entry fee for the Sunday

         Open Show will be waived for those animals only.



SUBSTITUTIONS may be made by May 12th with no fee.  ALL OTHER Substitutions after the deadline will be charged a fee of $5.00 ea. Substitutions at the show will be $10.00 each.


There will be no refunds of entry fees


Animals can arrive anytime after 10:00 am Friday May 16th.

Check in 4:00-9:00 pm May 16th, 7:30-8:30 am May 17th

Animals not showing both days may leave the grounds at completion of their show.


Base date for computing animal's age is May 17th and May 18th, 2008.  Animals showing in the May 18th show may be required to move up to the next class depending on the animals date of birth.


A registration certificate is required for all animals.  Tattoo's must be legible and match the registration papers.


All goats must have a current health certificate as required by the state of Arkansas.  It is the owner's responsibility to conform to all interstate transport laws, in compliance with current USDA animal movement restrictions. Registration certificates and current health papers must be presented to show secretary prior to show. Show personnel, veterinarian, or state/federal personnel will inspect all animals and will bar from the grounds any animal that is obviously sick, diseased, or parasite infected. 

Animals not being shown are prohibited, unless a kid is nursing. Then the kid and doe must have current health papers.

 

No artificial coloring allowed.


No dogs allowed at the show. 


Bedding will be available for purchase at the show.



Youth Breeding Animal Show Rules


Same rules as above open show with these additions:  Youth shall be considered up to age 18

Entry Fee $5 per animal (This also covers entry into Sunday's Open Show)

Animals showing in the Youth Market Show on May 17th must be in place by 7:00 a.m. 


Weigh in begins at 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. No reweighs.


All market animals must have their baby teeth.   Teeth will be inspected at weigh in.


Youth Market Show begins at 8:30 am


Any breed of goat may be shown


No limit to the number of animals that may be entered by each exhibitor.

 

All males and unregistered females participating in the market division must have a scrapies ear tag from their herd of origin or an identifying tattoo.

 

Classes will be divided by weight and the total number of classes will be based on the number of animals entered.

 

Out of state entries must provide health certificates dated within 30 days of the show and each animal must be listed.

 

An exhibitor shall not present an animal to be shown under a judge from whom it was purchased or possession was taken within 60 days of the show.

 

Animals showing a pronounced defect or abnormality will be barred from the show.

 

No one exhibitor may take Grand and Reserve awards.  If the same exhibitor is chosen for Grand and Reserve, a new Reserve will be chosen for the Reserve Award.

 

Youth shall be considered up to age 18.




YOUTH SHOWMANSHIP

 

Showmanship will be divided into four age groups. $5.00 Entry fee paid at entry

                                           PEE WEE                           8 AND UNDER

                                           INTERMEDIATE               9-12

                                           JUNIOR                             13-15

                                           SENIOR                             16 AND UP

 

SHOWMANSHIP AWARD WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT SHOW

 

The North Arkansas District Fair, North Arkansas Meat Goat Association, Caprine Kids 4-H and the sponsors of the 4th Annual Spring Classic Sanctioned Boer Goat Show will not be responsible for any liability from loss, damage or injury of person, or livestock, or other property. The sponsors of the show reserve the right to set reasonable standards for conduct by the exhibitors of the 4th Annual Spring Classic Sanctioned Boer Goat Show.
