1) ABGA rules shall govern the Boer Goat Shows. 2) The shows are open to all exhibitors. There is no limit on the number of animals that may be entered in a class by an exhibitor. 3) The entry fee for Boer goats is $15.00 per goat per show. Entries must be postmarked by May 5th, 2008. A late fee of $5.00 per goat per show will be added to the entry fee for entries postmarked after this date all late entries must be post marked by May 12th, 2008. There will be no refund of entry fees. Substitutions by After May 5th $5.00 ea Day of show $10.00 ea 4) Boer goats can arrive anytime after 10:00 AM on Friday, May 16th and check in from 4 pm till 9 pm Friday and 7:30 am till 8:30 am Saturday All registration papers must be checked by show superintendent. 5) These Shows are ABGA sanctioned for Percentage Does, Full Blood/Purebred Does and Full Blood/Purebred Bucks. All Boer goats must be registered in the herd-book of a recognized association before the date of the show. Recognized associations include ABGA, International Boer Goat Association, USBGA, and the Canadian Boer Goat Association. The original registration certificate is required. Animals must be registered in the name of the exhibitor and must have been owned by the exhibitor on or before the date of the show. 6) The original registration certificate (no photo copies) will be required for all Boer goats three months of age or older. A registration certificate or a stamped duplicate or a faxed duplicate application showing the date received by the registry office is required on all Boer goats under three months of age. A show superintendent or an assistant must check the registration certificates before the times specified in rule 6 above. 7) Percentage Boer Doe Classes are for does 50% to 87% Boer. Full blood Boer Classes are 15/16 (93.7%) and higher and for does and 31/32 (96.8%) and higher for bucks. 8) Animals shown in group classes must also have been shown in individual classes. 9) Substitutions are permitted. (See rule 3.) 10) Base date for figuring age is the date of the show. All goats must exhibit legible tattoos and be correctly tattooed, the same as reflected on the animals 11) Identification consistent with its registration certificate. If the animal has a microchip as its permanent identification, the exhibitor is responsible for providing a microchip reader. 12) Exhibitors must provide their own bedding and feed/hay. Bedding will be available for sale at the show. Only shavings will be allowed for bedding. 13) All goats entering Arkansas for exhibition must meet all the requirement for entry into Arkansas. Goats coming from out of state must have a valid certificate of veterinary inspection within ninety (90) days of the show with identification of each animal. 14) Goats may be examined on grounds by fair or show personnel, veterinarians, or state-federal personnel. Goats showing evidence of disease, particularly foot rot, sore mouth, sheep pox, evidence of fungal infection, evidence of abscesses or draining abscesses, will not be allowed to enter the barn or show and may be released by fair or show officials, veterinarians, or state-federal personnel. Goats showing evidence of other disease may also be released. Any goat showing clinical symptoms of Scrapie shall be immediately quarantined in isolation and required to undergo any approved diagnostic tests and shall be consigned to slaughter or destruction with submission of tissues to an approved diagnostic laboratory at the exhibitors expense. 15) Commingling (as defined by the Arkansas Scrapie Regulation) of sheep or goats of different flock status as defined by the Voluntary Flock Certification Program (VFCP) is prohibited and must be reported to the VFCP state official and State Veterinarian. All exhibitors must indicate on their entry form whether or not they are enrolled in the Voluntary Flock Certification Program and their herd status if enrolled. Show officials on the bases of herd status will make pen assignments. No exhibitor is to unload goats into the barn until their goats have been inspected and they have been assigned pens by a show official. 16) Any Boer goat showing any pronounced defect or abnormality will be barred from all of the breeding classes. Artificial coloring will be a disqualification. Any Boer doe over 24 months of age that has not kidded and can not prove a current pregnancy will not be allowed to show. 17) The North Arkansas Meat Goat Association will not be liable for any animals, persons or personal property. Youth exhibitors are to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Entry forms may be reproduced and will be accepted. |
